Old fashioned music videos such as this does not have a theory, it only has a moral behind it. It sends a message out totheir target audience whether it be correct or not.
Also in this case it Blondie's target audience is also far stretched it could go out to either gender or age group.
The setting that they are trying to convey is at the beach. Also the musical intruments are associated to that setting also, such as bongo drums. This setting also portrays to be low budget as the music video is in the same setting throughout.

Camera shots/movement

Many low angle and long shots are used within this video, it straight cuts numerous times between each memeber in the band. This shows them as a powerful and high status amoungst the audience, however within the band it conveys that they are all equally famous as they share the same amount of screen shots. Blondie of course is the main focus of this video as multiple zoom in's are used from different angles, to portray she is the dominant artist, hence the name. Also many close up's were used to show the band memebers wearing masks of old people, this links in with the idea of the song, 'die young, stay pretty.' It subconsciously sends a message to her target audience that is it bad to become old, this statement is supported when she contrasts the straight cuts used between her wearing the mask and then to her natural face.

Lighting

The key light is coming from the side of the band and from above, this is unusual to use as shadows will come accross the face highlighting only half of their faces however, an orange fill light has been added from the other side of the face again to make the facial expressions more clear from the audiences perspective. Therefore two different coloured lights are shinning on the band members from two different angles, this creates a warm mood.

Costume

All there costumes are obviously set back in the late seventies, early eighties. Pokerdot shirts and head sweat bands which were the latest fashion back in that era. Their costumes are basic and simple. Their outfits are summery which go with the setting they are trying to portray.
